One tool, seven superpowers
Markdrop started as a markdown pastebin and grew into a full sharing suite — all still no-login by default.
The server never sees your file.
Drop a file and get a link. When your recipient opens it, the file streams straight from your browser to theirs over an encrypted WebRTC channel. Markdrop only relays a few kilobytes of connection setup — never a single byte of your file.
- End-to-end encrypted. DTLS 1.2 is mandatory in WebRTC — it can't be turned off.
- No upload, no size cap. Bytes go peer-to-peer; limited only by your device, not our disk.
- Nothing persisted. Rooms live in memory for the transfer, then vanish. No database.
Stop copy-pasting docs into a browser.
Write markdown in VS Code — from Claude Code, Codex, or your own notes — hit save, and it publishes to a markdrop.in link. Edit it on the web and the change flows back into your file.
- Publish in one click. The active .md becomes a shareable link owned by your account.
- True two-way sync. Save pushes; remote edits pull automatically into your file.
- Conflict-safe. Both sides changed? A side-by-side diff lets you choose — never a silent overwrite.
- Secure by default. Token lives in VS Code's encrypted Secret Storage and is revocable anytime.
Diagrams and math, rendered right in your doc.
Drop a ```mermaid block or wrap LaTeX in $$ … $$ and Markdrop turns it into a crisp diagram or typeset equation — no plugins, no build step, rendered live as you publish.
- Mermaid diagrams. Flowcharts, sequence, Gantt, class and state diagrams — straight from a text fence.
- Charts. Pie and XY/bar charts render inline — perfect for a quick data snapshot.
- LaTeX math (KaTeX). Inline $E = mc^2$ and display $$…$$ blocks become beautifully typeset math.
- Zero setup. Rendered right in the browser on any document — in light, dark and VS Code themes.
Under the hood: Mermaid and KaTeX run client-side, so your markdown stays plain text — the diagrams are generated fresh in the browser every time the doc loads.
Turn your markdown into a Google Doc.
Write in markdown, share it as a polished Google Doc in one click — ready to comment on, hand off, or drop into a report. Change the markdown and push the update to the same Doc anytime.
- 1Connect once. Link your Google account from the dashboard. Markdrop only gets access to the Docs it creates — nothing else in your Drive.
- 2Export in one click. Hit “Google Docs” on any document. Your markdown becomes a fully-formatted Google Doc — headings, bold, lists, tables, links and code blocks all intact.
- 3Keep it in sync. Edit the markdown later and click “Update Doc”. The same Google Doc is refreshed in place — your markdown stays the source of truth.
Under the hood: Markdrop uses Google's own markdown importer, so formatting renders natively in Docs. Your Google credentials are encrypted at rest and revocable anytime.
