For teams
Your domain.
Your brand.
Publish from your own domain, under your own name. Nobody sees Markdrop.

Welcome to the team. This guide covers your first week: your accounts, the tools we use, and who to ask when you are stuck.
- Set up your laptop and accounts
- Read the engineering handbook
- Ship your first change
- Your hostname, with a certificate we issue
- Your name and favicon in every tab
- Your colour across every page
- Your brand on link previews
Custom domains
Three steps to your domain
Add a hostname you control, paste two records into your DNS, and we take it from there.
- Add your domainAny hostname you control. A subdomain such as docs. is simplest.
- Paste two DNS recordsOne proves it is yours, one points it here.
- We issue the certificateOnce both records resolve, your documents are live on it.

- _markdrop-verify.docs

White-label
Nobody sees Markdrop.
Your site name, favicon, logo and colour on every page and every link preview.
View-only mode hides the reader controls from signed-out visitors, on your own domain only.
Workspaces
Your team, in one place
Invite people by email and give each a role. Nothing changes for them until they accept.
- OwnerEverything an admin can do, plus deleting the workspace.
- AdminManages members, domains and branding.
- MemberCreates and publishes documents.
- ViewerReads what the workspace publishes.
Enforced everywhere, including markdrop.in links.
Access
Decide who reads each document
Pick a level, then add people by email. A level only narrows who can read it; a person you add only widens it.
Members of Acme Docs can read it, and so can the people you add below.
What everyone else sees
This document is private
It's shared with specific people. Sign in with the address it was shared with and it'll open.
In every workspace
What comes with it
No Markdrop anywhere
Your name, favicon and colour on every page and link preview.
View-only mode
Hide every control for visitors. A plain page, served like a CDN.
Only your documents
A slug from elsewhere on Markdrop returns 404 on your host.
Folders & roles
Owner, admin, member, viewer. Folders file; they never grant access.
Require sign-in
Refuse anonymous reads — on every link, not just your domain.
End-to-end encryption
Sealed in the browser. The key rides in the link, never our servers.
The privacy boundary
What admins can see, and what they can’t
Workspace admins can see
- Documents shared into the workspaceTheir titles appear in the library, filed by folder.
- Who belongs, and each person’s roleMembers, pending invitations and the invitation history.
- The domains, branding and foldersEverything on the workspace settings page.
They never see
- A member’s own documentsA document joins the workspace only when its owner shares it in.
- The text of an encrypted documentMarkdrop stores ciphertext it has no key for. Signing in never unlocks it.
- Anyone else’s ownershipDocuments never change owner. Delete the workspace and they go back to their owners, with the same links and analytics.
- One job per host. Documents or uploaded files, never both. That separation keeps uploaded content away from your session.
- Subdomains are simplest. An apex domain needs an A record, which not every DNS provider handles well.
- View-only hides Report. So it applies only on domains you own and answer for, never on markdrop.in.
